GITEX Global 2022, the region’s largest and one of the world’s biggest technology shows, was going global. Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the organisers, wanted to secure wide-spread international exposure, highlight the show features and demonstrate how GITEX is the ideal platform in the world to demystify tech buzzwords. They also wanted to increase footfall/registration and share of voice while creating engaging content for media (both locally and globally). Over 5,000 companies from across the globe were part of the show, which featured the world’s most immersive showcase of the Web3 economy, among other fascinating experiences.

Strategy
As the official PR Partner for GITEX GLOBAL 2022, we took a strategic, three-pronged approach to promote the event globally. We liaised with our international offices to bring in 19 media and re-instated a pre-event press conference put on hold due to COVID-19.
With a local team of more than ten members, we managed the press office – from appointing roving reporters to creating content and distributing it, managing media relations, and hosting an international media agenda highlighting the show’s different experiences. This was in addition to consulting XPENG X2 as it took its first public flight at GITEX.
Results
- We secured over 27,000 pieces of coverage in English, Arabic, and other languages, such as Mandarin, with an EMV of $240.8mn
- We managed the pre-event press conference attended by 47 media
- We hosted and managed 19 international media from all over the world, secured over 30 media attendance for XPENG’s first public flight
- During the event, we hosted a press conference to announce GITEX Africa, securing over 20 media.
